Fujifilm shooters have a reason to care about LUTs that other brands do not: film simulations. In stills and in standard video, a camera menu choice gives you Classic Chrome or Eterna straight out of the camera. Shoot F-Log or F-Log2 and that choice disappears; the footage comes off the card flat. The LUTs bring it back.
What LUTs does Fujifilm provide?
Fujifilm's support site has a LUT download page with one entry per camera, from older bodies such as the X-T2 and X-H1 to the X-H2S, X-T5, X-S20, X100VI and the GFX line. Each is a free download of .cube files for that model. Fujifilm notes that which log profiles are available, F-Log, F-Log2 or F-Log2C, varies by model.
The files fall into two kinds:
| Kind | What it does |
|---|---|
| Log to Rec.709 | Turns the flat log image into a neutral, normal-contrast Rec.709 image |
| Log to film simulation | Turns log footage straight into a Fujifilm look such as Eterna |
The big addition came with the GFX ETERNA 55: LUTs that convert F-Log2 and F-Log2C footage into ten film simulations, among them Eterna, Classic Chrome, Provia, Velvia and Acros, plus a neutral and a natural version. Fujifilm presented them as working with F-Log2 and F-Log2C from its other recent cameras too. Earlier, Fujifilm had already published an Eterna LUT for F-Log.
Download the set listed for your own camera body, not a neighbouring model.
Which Fujifilm LUT should you use?
The deciding question is what you recorded:
- F-Log (older and smaller bodies): the F-Log to Rec.709 LUT, or F-Log to Eterna for that look.
- F-Log2 (the X-H2, X-H2S and later): the F-Log2 files. The F-Log LUT on F-Log2 footage gives flat, wrong highlights, because the curves differ.
- F-Log2C (the wider colour version on recent bodies): the F-Log2C files, which are packaged alongside the F-Log2 ones.
Check the camera's menu or the clip metadata before choosing. F-Log to Rec.709 explains the F-Log and F-Log2 difference in more detail.
Rec.709 or a film simulation?
A Rec.709 conversion gives you a clean, neutral starting point. That is the right choice if you will grade on top, or if you need the clips to match footage from another camera.
A film simulation LUT gives you a finished look in one step, the same character as the camera's stills. That is the right choice when you shot Fujifilm because you like how Fujifilm looks.
| You want | Use |
|---|---|
| A neutral base for your own grade | F-Log2 to Rec.709 |
| A cinematic, low-saturation look | Eterna |
| Muted colour with punchy contrast | Classic Chrome |
| Black and white | Acros |
| Vivid landscape colour | Velvia |
One caution: film simulation LUTs are strong. On the shot that is already contrasty or saturated, the full look can be too much. That is a strength problem, not a reason to pick another simulation. LUT intensity explains why.
Do Fujifilm LUTs work on photos?
The film simulation LUTs are built for log video, so on ordinary photos they will look wrong. For stills, set the simulation in camera or in Fujifilm's own raw software. If you want a matching look across photos and converted video from the same shoot, apply a Rec.709 creative look to both after the video is converted.
How do you apply a Fujifilm LUT to the whole card?
In an editor, one clip is a minute's work: a LUT node in Resolve, the Custom LUT effect in Final Cut Pro, the Input LUT in Premiere. Forty clips means a timeline and a render queue.
BatchTone treats it as a batch job on a Mac:
- Drop the card's folder in.
- Import the Fujifilm LUTs once. Each is previewed on your own first frame, so you can compare Eterna and Classic Chrome on your footage before committing.
- Pull the strength down on any clip that takes the look too hard.
- Export H.264 MP4 to a folder you choose. 10-bit H.264 and HEVC are read, audio is copied untouched, and originals are never written to.
Everything is processed on your Mac.
Only your own files and LUT pack can show whether it fits, which is why the seven-day trial has everything unlocked: video, unlimited batches, no watermark. After that it is one in-app purchase, not a subscription.

Common questions
Are Fujifilm LUTs free?
Fujifilm publishes its official conversion and film simulation LUTs for free on its support site.
Can I get Classic Chrome on F-Log footage?
Fujifilm's film simulation set was announced for F-Log2 and F-Log2C, so check your camera's download for what it includes. On F-Log footage, convert to Rec.709 and use a third-party Classic Chrome style LUT, or shoot with the film simulation instead of log.
Should I shoot F-Log2 or a film simulation?
Shoot a film simulation when you know the look and want to deliver quickly. Shoot F-Log2 when you need the dynamic range or might change the look later; the LUTs give you the simulation back afterwards.
Do the LUTs work in DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro?
Yes. They are standard .cube files and load in any app that reads them.
